Saving from TikTok

Save places from TikTok straight to a map

You saved the video because the food looked unreal. Three months later you're in that city, and the video is buried in a folder with four hundred others. Pospot saves TikTok places as pins on your map, so the place is there when you are.

How to save a place from TikTok to a map

  1. 1

    Find the TikTok

Open the TikTok with the restaurant, cafe, beach or view you want to keep.

  2. 2

    Tap Share, then Pospot

On iPhone, pick Save to Pospot from TikTok's share sheet. Anywhere else, tap Copy link and paste it into Pospot.

  3. 3

    Let Pospot read the video

It reads the caption, the on-screen text and the video itself, then matches the venue against real map data.

  4. 4

    Check your pin

The place lands on your map with its name, address, rating and a link back to the TikTok. Unsure matches carry a Verify badge.

  5. 5

Turn your map into a trip

Group the pins into a list for the trip, share it, and tap Navigate when you get there.

Why the TikTok saves folder doesn't work

TikTok Favorites is a list of videos, not a travel tool. There's no map, no way to group by city, and nothing tells you four of your saves are a ten minute walk from where you're standing.

So the save sits there. When the trip happens you scroll for twenty minutes, give up, and eat wherever is closest.

What actually gets extracted from the video

The pin is only half of it. Each place keeps its name, category, address, Google rating, price level, opening hours, photos and a link back to the video, so you remember why it was worth saving.

"10 cafes you have to try in Lisbon" is one video and ten places. Pospot pins every venue it finds, up to 13 from a single link, and it still counts as one save.

It's not only TikTok

The same works for Instagram Reels and posts, YouTube videos, Facebook posts and any web page, like a blog post or a travel guide. Every place for the same trip ends up on one map, whatever app it came from.

Common questions

Can you save places from TikTok to Google Maps?

Not directly. Google Maps can't read a TikTok, so you'd have to watch it, work out the venue name, search for it and save it by hand. That's the step most people give up on. Pospot takes the TikTok itself, pins the place, and every pin opens in Google Maps with one tap.

Does it work if the creator didn't tag the location?

Usually, yes. Pospot reads the caption, on-screen text, account name and the video itself. Pins it isn't sure about are marked Verify, and if nothing points to a real place you aren't charged.

Where do saved TikToks go?

Into Favorites: open your Profile and tap the bookmark tab. It's a list of videos, not places - share the travel ones to Pospot and they land on a map instead.
