Saving from Facebook
Save places from Facebook posts and Reels to a map
Some of the best local tips live in Facebook groups: "where should we eat in Porto?" with 80 replies. Facebook Saved keeps the post, but not the places in it. Pospot turns the post into pins.
How to save a place from Facebook to a map
1
Open the post or Reel
Any public post, Reel or video that names a place.
2
Copy the link
Tap Share, then Copy link. Facebook's share links work as they are.
3
Paste it into Pospot
Pospot reads the post and the video, works out the place and matches it on the map.
4
See it on your map
Name, address, rating, hours and a link back to the post.
Facebook Saved is a reading list, not a map
Saved items on Facebook are sorted by when you saved them. Nothing groups them by city, and nothing tells you which saved restaurant is around the corner.
Reels, videos and plain posts
Facebook Reels and videos are read the same way as TikToks: caption, on-screen text and the video. Text posts work from the caption alone, which is often all a recommendation needs.
A post listing several places becomes several pins, up to 13 from one link.
Common questions
Can I save a Facebook post to Google Maps?
Not directly. You'd copy the place name out of the post and search for it. Pospot does that from the link, and each pin opens in Google Maps.
Does it work with private groups?
No. Pospot can only read public posts. Private groups, private profiles and deleted posts can't be read, and a failed pin doesn't cost a credit.
